The Aegean Robotics team of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Lab of the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering (ICSD) of the University of the Aegean, organizes the panhellenic educational robotics competition “6th AegeanRobotics e-Competition 2022”. The competition will commence at 9th-10th of April 2022 with the use of online methods.

The tests that you can compete are the following:

  • Remote Freestyle
  • Transportation of eggs from nest to nest
  • Wall Climbing

Registration until 2nd of April 2022.

Approved: ΥΠΑΙΘ αρ.πρωτοκ. Φ15/157867/Δ2/3-12-2021

The members of all the teams will receive a Certificate of Participation, while the first three (3) teams in each test will receive an additional diploma of distinction and a honorary plaque. In addition, the first team in each test will receive electronics and other materials (boards, sensors) as a small contribution to the continuation of their journey in the world of Robotics that they have just begun.

To register, follow the link below in the image until April 11, 2021:

It is possible to reward the timely application. Register for the Remote Free Style test and your entry will be presented on the competition page claiming the votes of the audience. The entries that will be declared until February 28, will be announced all together on our site, while those who enter afterwards, will receive votes from the moment they enter. All entries that will compete will receive a bonus in the final score on the day of the competition, based on the votes they will receive (up to 10% depending on the votes).

For your participation in the early registration voting it is necessary to send a technical description of your project and team, at least two photos, and a video (less than 2 min) to the email: aegeanrobotics@aegean.gr with the subject: “Participation in the voting of timely registration ”. If there is progress in your project you can update the information, hoping for more votes.

COMPETITION INFORMATION

Remote Free Style

Robots can perform any function. In the free category, a demonstration of simple automations can be made. The exhibits are graded by a group of judges based on a table of criteria.

The Free Style test is divided into three (3) age categories:

  • Primary Education, for primary school students
  • Secondary Education, for High School students
  • Higher Education, for undergraduate / postgraduate students

There is no limit to the type and use of materials. A more detailed description of the test, the rules that govern it and the individual restrictions can be found in the rules form on the competition page.

Transfer of eggs from nest to nest

The purpose of the test is for the robotic device to transfer in two (2) minutes, as many “eggs” as possible from one “nest” to another. A more detailed description of the test, the rules and the individual restrictions can be found in the rules form on the competition page.

Wall Climbing

The purpose of this test is for the robotic device to travel the distance of one meter (1m) in height with the best time on the wall. A detailed description of the test, the rules and the individual restrictions can be found in the printed regulation on the page of the competition.

How to participate

Given the particularly difficult conditions of the pandemic we are experiencing and committed to the strict adherence to health protocols to reduce the possibility of exposing people to a dangerous viral load this year’s competition will be entirely from a distance again. For this reason, in order to participate, you must ensure:

  1. Access to Zoom platform.
  2. Camera
  3. Microphone

The institution of the student-association

Whichever team wishes, will have a student-link, from the moment they register until the competition. This student will be informed about the project of the group and will contact the organizing committee for what the group wants (questions, clarifications, etc.).

General

  1. The robotic system must be self-made and not a ready-made robot.
  2. The organizers are in no way responsible for any accidents of the participants or damages caused by the participants, robots or their equipment and can change the rules without prior notice if issues such as large number of entries, local conditions etc. occur.

In the framework of the General Data Protection Regulation (2016 /// 679 / EU), we inform you that the event may be videotaped and / or during it photos may be taken to promote the event both on the site and in the media/communication.
