Theodoros Papadopoulos
Theodoros Papadopoulos is a PhD candidate on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. He is working in ICT since 1998, having acquired and practiced Software development, business and systems analysis, consulting, research, architectural and management skills. He participated in demanding projects and mastered cutting edge technologies, with a strong focus on Data Modeling, Research and Development, Enterprise technology and Open Source frameworks. He worked in highly regarded companies and organizations and he is passionate about eGovernment.
He is responsible for a series of open data initiatives of the Greek Government such as, the Open Data Portal (http://www.data.gov.gr) and the Greek Transparency portal (https://www.diavgeia.gov.gr/en)/. He has been awarded the 1st prize in the National Competition for Innovation in eGovernment (2011) for the implementation of a public repository of open financial data, as well as, the 2nd prize in the international transparency hackathon organized in Brazil by Transparency International (2014). He is a member of ICT-related EC working groups, Chairman at DCAT-AP Standard Working Group and Member of Core Vocabularies Working groups. He has been a National Representative in EU Public Sector Information committee and has experience in technical management of European and National research projects. Theodoros has a bachelor in informatics from the Athens University of Economics and Business, with an MSc in Web Engineering Systems from the Harokopio University of Athens. He is a PhD candidate in the Department of Information and Communications Systems Engineering at the University of the Aegean, researching Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Public Administrations.
