AIRodyssey
An odyssey through AI & Robotics
AIRodyssey sets out to establish a new annual international conference on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AIR). We call it an odyssey because that is how we mean to work: a long, deliberate voyage of exploration into these two fields and the places where they meet — charting them in depth, year after year, rather than skimming the surface. And, true to its name, the conference itself travels.
The first edition brings the focused spirit of a residential research meeting to the Aegean Sea. For four days, speakers, authors and students share a single floating venue: scientific sessions run while the ship sails between islands, and time in port is free for exploration — and for the conversations that conferences are really about.
Indicative route: Lavrio (Athens) → Mykonos → Kuşadası (Ephesus) → Patmos → Rhodes → Heraklion → Santorini → Lavrio. Final itinerary and port times to be confirmed by the cruise line.
Topics of interest
AIRodyssey welcomes original contributions across artificial intelligence and robotics. Each conference day is devoted to one of four themes:
- Day 1 — Computer vision, NLP and document analysis
- Day 2 — Robot learning, perception and planning
- Day 3 — Human–robot interaction and social robotics
- Day 4 — Foundation Models for AI & Robotics
Submissions
All papers: 6–8 pages, Springer LNCS format (up to 2 additional pages allowed in the camera-ready version).
Submission period: 1 November – 1 December 2026. Submit your paper at: https://confio.aegean.gr/c/AIRodyssey
All submissions are peer-reviewed by the international Program Committee. Accepted papers are presented either orally or as posters, at the Program Committee’s discretion; all accepted papers are included in the conference proceedings, regardless of presentation format. Indexed publication details will be announced on this page.

Morning in port · sessions & posters 13:00–17:00 — Robot learning, perception & planning
Full day ashore in Rhodes · sessions & posters 17:00–21:00 — Human–robot interaction & social robotics · conference dinner

Return to Lavrio
Indicative schedule: session hours are aligned with sailing times and will be finalized with the 2027 port schedule.
One fee, everything included
The venue is the ship itself: a modern Celestyal cruise liner sailing out of Lavrio (Athens), with a dedicated conference room on board for all sessions and posters — accommodation, catering and social space in one place.
Registration includes:
- 4-night cruise accommodation (twin-share inside cabin; upgrades available)
- Full board — breakfast, lunch and dinner on board
- Port fees, gratuities and the Greek sustainable-tourism fee
- Admission to all keynotes, sessions and poster sessions
- Conference materials and proceedings
- Welcome reception and social program
The regular fee corresponds to the most economical cabin type (twin-share inside cabin). If you prefer a higher cabin category — an outside cabin, or single occupancy — you simply pay the fare difference from the base cabin at booking.
Registration and payment are handled by the conference travel partner; invoices suitable for university and project reimbursement are provided.
