Short C.V.

I am an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering (ICSD) at the University of the Aegean, Greece. I hold a Ph.D. in Communication Networks and a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering (five-year degree), with a major in Telecommunications.

My research addresses wireless and mobile communication networks, with particular emphasis on the Internet of Things (IoT) and next-generation 5G/6G systems. My current work encompasses cooperative transmission schemes and non-terrestrial network (NTN)-based connectivity for resilient IoT deployments in remote and underserved regions, unmanned vehicle (UxV) swarms, and resource management and Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning in heterogeneous network environments. I further investigate the application of machine learning to resource allocation, network deployment, and system efficiency, with applications extending to smart agriculture and sustainability. A substantial part of this research has been conducted within European and nationally funded R&D projects.

My research has been published in international journals and conference proceedings, and has received an h-index of 19 and over 1,500 citations (Google Scholar). Up-to-date publication lists are available through my Google Scholar and ResearchGate profiles.

I currently serve on the editorial boards of Wireless Networks (Springer) and Internet Technology Letters (Wiley), and as a Topical Advisory Panel Member for Electronics (MDPI). Previously, I was an editorial board member for the Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking (EURASIP), Advances in Electrical Engineering (Hindawi), and The Scientific World Journal (Communications and Networking subject area, Hindawi).
